Pass the Popcorn: What Movies Did Hotel Guests Watch the Most in February?

Does anyone go to movie theaters anymore? February was Oscar month, and it seems a lot of guests used hotel room visits to catch the 2012 Academy Award nominees. (So much for witnessing Skyfall’s technical effects on the big screen.) Whatever. No envelope needed. Scroll down to see the month’s top ten hotel room hits.
As always this month’s round-up is compiled by LodgeNet, suppliers of in-room entertainment to 1.6 million hotel rooms in the U.S and Canada.

Hard to argue with Argo, a very good movie indeed. Well worth a few dollars for a hotel rental. Silver Linings Playbook is another good one, and, I see, higher ranked in NYC than in the nation.
In general, what sort of movies tend to do better in NYC than across the nation in hotel rooms?

As you can see, people visiting New York don’t choose movies all that differently from those across the nation and in Canada. Still, if I had to generalize I’d say children’s movies tend to score lower in New York, perhaps because not as many people are traveling with kids as some destinations. And movies with New York settings always do well here. “Arbitrage,” for example, came in much higher in New York hotel rooms than elsewhere. Thanks for your comments, Erik.
